How a revised Mission Statement led to an Encouragement Wall Display

When you walked into our office today, this is one of the first things you’ll see,  The Caring Line: Encouragement Wall, filled with personal letters, bible verses, and words of appreciation submitted for phone and chat volunteers by people in our community


Our volunteers step into some really heavy conversations, offering care, patience, and compassion to those who reach out.

And recently, as we reflected on our mission as a ministry, we put words to what that really looks like for us today since expanding to offer chat support as well.


Our mission: To demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ by providing compassionate, wise care to every person who contacts us.


This encouragement wall is one small way we live that out together.


We’re inviting you to help us fill it with prayers, encouragement, and messages of appreciation for our volunteers who live out this mission each day.


Whether you were a past volunteer or you simply support the mission of Telecare, you can bring words of life and care to our volunteers and callers each day through this still small gesture. 


This display will live both in our office and here, online, to encourage others. When you submit, our team will fill out a card on your behalf to fill our wall.

Submissions sent in by May 15, 2026 will be a part of our AGM physical display on May 21 @ 6:30pm, New Life Church.
It’s a simple way to encourage someone and to take part in this mission we share and live out together—to reflect Christ’s love through care and compassion.

Former Mission: "Telecare Crisis & Caring Line demonstrates the compassion of our Lord Jesus Christ by providing dedicated, skilled, and empathic listeners to anyone who calls for help."

This previous statement, written as a phone-based ministry, placed highest emphasis on the mission being providing trained listeners whereas our current mission focuses on caring for all who reach out while inspiring our community to live it live out in all areas of our ministry.

The Smartphone as Lifeline
